Jack Frost has been visiting and there is that festive jingle in the air - the Christmas season is most definitely underway!
Whether with work, family or friends, there is no doubt you will have a few functions to attend over the Christmas and New Year period and of course you need a killer dress to party in!
Imagine agonising over the perfect party dress, trawling every website and high street shop until you find something that makes you feel good. Handing over your hard earned cash and glamming yourself up on the night to then arrive and see someone else in the very same dress! It's a stomach dropping feeling that no-one wants to experience (trust me, I've been there!)
So how can you guarantee that you will be the only one wearing THAT dress? Go vintage of course! At My Vintage we have an unrivaled selection of vintage dresses that will always look glamorous and stylish whilst being totally unique! And with prices from as little as £30 they won't break the bank either!
Here are my top 5 picks from our current collection, spanning various styles and sizes so there is certain to be one you love...

Autumn/Winter Fashion Trends 2009 - Mega 80s
To view items from the My Vintage "Mega 80s" collection simply click here
The eighties trend has been hanging around for the past few years - we are still wearing leggings and ra ra skirts and some of us have even dipped our toes into the nu-rave neon pool this summer. But on the catwalks this season we have seen a big leap into what we call the "mega eighties". Think big shoulders, layers of lace, sequins, puff skirts, tapered trousers, shoulder pads, blazers and colour clashing. The bigger the better!
So if ever there was a perfect time to try vintage clothing then it's right now! And here at My Vintage we have plenty of eighties gear from the weird and wonderful to the contemporary and classic, with a whole host of goodies in between. Look out for quirky puffball vintage party dresses and Dynasty-esque shoulder padded vintage suits. Red and black has always been a killer colour combo so keep your eyes peeled for dresses like these, which are both under £80!
You can also work the red and black look brilliantly in the daytime. Again, shoulder pads are a must. Look for real power dressing outfits in more masculine shapes. If you're clever you can even mix this into a nautical vintage look that screams fashionista. This blazer dress is perfect - full of full-on shoulder power but short enough to avoid the f-word (that's frumpy by the way!)
The emphasis on the mega eighties trend is drama but that doesn't have to mean tacky or outrageous. For the perfect Hollywood glamour evening piece why not go for something in black with pastel shades of lemon, pink or sky blue. Think satins and silks rather than taffeta and lace if you want to follow the trend in a sleek understated fashion. This black and pink large bow evening gown is the perfect example and is available for only £75!
If you're young and girly and fancy being a bit more Michaela McQueen than Michaela Strachan then look for mini prom dresses with fitted bodices and puffed out skirts. Don't be shy of colours as this look needs a sugar injection. Pinks, yellows, blues, greens and oranges are favourites with us here at My Vintage. We absolutely adore this multicolour harlequin puffball prom dress for only £75!

So be brave and go mega eighties this party season! But get in quick as the best vintage dresses will not stick around!
